Persistent rain and wet outfield washed out SRH’s final hopes of qualifying for the IPL 2025 playoffs at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium on Monday. SRH now have just seven points from 11 matches and the best position they can reach is fifth. (AP Photo/Mahesh Kumar A.)

SRH would be disappointed because they were playing some of their best cricket of the season. Pat Cummins took three wickets in the powerplay and despite Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma’s twin 41s, they managed to keep Delhi Capitals down to 133. (AP Photo/Mahesh Kumar A.)

They would have backed themselves to chase the total but heavy rainfall delayed proceedings. (AP Photo/Mahesh Kumar A.)

The rain lasted till around 10:45 pm but the ground staff couldn’t clear the excessive puddles formed on the ground by the five-over cut-off timing of 11:42 pm. (AP Photo/Mahesh Kumar A.)

SRH are now placed eighth in the points table and though they’d want to end the season on a high with three wins, it’s a good opportunity to look back at one of their most underwhelming campaigns. (AP Photo/Mahesh Kumar A.)

They won their first match of the season against Rajasthan Royals and gave hope that they might go one better this year. However, after that, they just won two more matches — against Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings (so far).

Their losses were exponentially high in number. They lost four on the trot after the first win and two more after the second. This included two back-to-back defeats to Mumbai Indians within six days.
