Television star Ram Kapoor, known for iconic shows like Kasamh Se and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, left fans stunned with his dramatic weight transformation. In December 2024, the actor shared a striking picture on Instagram, revealing his journey and addressing his absence from the platform. “Hi guys, sorry for the slightly long absence from Insta. Was working on myself quite extensively,” he wrote.
Ram Kapoor shed an impressive 55 kilos, dropping from 140 kg to 85 kg in just a year. In a candid podcast with Devna Gandhi, the actor opened up about the challenges, learnings, and strategies behind his remarkable transformation.
Ram shared that his journey began five years ago with a series of ups and downs. “I lost 30 kilos, gained it back, and repeated the cycle. It taught me what not to do,” he said. Determined to succeed, he immersed himself in fitness literature, expert podcasts, and research. “I realized there are two types of people—those who prioritize health and fitness, and those who don’t. I decided to fully commit to becoming the best version of myself,” he added.
Diet Secrets: Intermittent Fasting and Simplicity
Ram adopted a simple yet effective eating plan, consuming only two meals a day. His first meal was around 10:30–11:00 AM, and his second at 6:30 PM, with no snacking in between. He followed an intermittent fasting routine, eating within an 8-hour window and fasting for the remaining 16 hours.
Fitness Routine: Consistency Is Key
The actor emphasized the importance of consistency in exercise. He dedicated 45 minutes daily to cardio and 45 minutes to strength training. Additionally, he credited strength training and maintaining a healthy sleep routine as vital components for achieving sustainable weight loss.
On Ozempic and Quick Fixes
When asked whether he used Ozempic—a diabetes medication gaining popularity for weight loss—Ram dismissed the speculation. “I never took Ozempic or underwent bariatric surgery. But does that really matter? People choose different paths to improve themselves, and there’s nothing wrong with that,” he said.
