Rangbhari Ekadashi is celebrated every year on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month. This is a rare Ekadashi in which instead of Lord Vishnu, devotees worship Shiva and Parvati.

On this Ekadashi date, Amla Ekadashi or Amalaki Ekadashi is celebrated for the worship of Lord Vishnu. As the name suggests, Rangbhari Ekadashi is full of colours, and red colour and gulal are used in this Ekadashi. Rangbhari Ekadashi Tithi

According to the Muhurtadrik Panchang, Phalgun Shukla Ekadashi for Rangbhari Ekadashi is from 7:45 am on Sunday, March 9 to 7:44 am on Monday, March 10. Considering the Udayatithi, the festival of Rangbhari Ekadashi will be celebrated on March 10.

Festival Of Shiva-Parvati

Rangbhari Ekadashi is associated with the festival of Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati. According to mythology, when Lord Shiva married Parvati, they both came to Kashi for the first time on Phalgun Shukla Ekadashi and a celebration was held on their arrival.

Colours and gulal were used to celebrate their arrival. The day is celebrated with great devotion and fervour every year at the Kashi Vishwanath temple.

Shubh Muhurta

Brahma Muhurta on the day of Rangbhari Ekadashi is from 4:35 am to 5:24 am. Abhijeet Muhurta on that day is from 11:45 am to 12:32 pm.

This Rangbhari Ekadashi, Sarvarth Siddhi Yoga and Shobhan Yoga are being formed. Shobhan Yoga is till 1:57 pm in the afternoon, while Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is from 6:12 am to 12:51 am at night. Pushya Nakshatra is till 12:51 am.

Significance

According to beliefs, on the day of Rangbhari Ekadashi, Lord Shiva reached Kashi after marrying Maa Parvati and devotees welcomed him with gulal. Holi starts in Kashi on this day, which lasts for a whole week.
