IND vs ENG Test Series: Most Fifty-Plus Scores
Batter Name | 50-Plus Scores | Matches | Runs | Year |
Ravindra Jadeja (IND) | 6 | 5 | 516 | 2025 |
Graham Gooch (ENG) | 5 | 3 | 752 | 1990 |

After Akash Deep’s fifty and Yashavi Jaiswal’s hundred, it was Jadeja who kept the English bowlers at bay. During his remarkable 77-ball stay at the crease, Jadeja hit seven boundaries to reach 53 before falling prey to Josh Tounge.
In the 82nd over, the sword came out following a boundary to Josh Tounge. The English quick returned in the 84th over to end Jadeja’s outing. The southpaw nicked one to Harry Brook and walked back after passing the baton to Washington Sundar.
With Ravindra Jadeja (53) and Mohammed Siraj falling in quick succession, the pressure shifted onto Sundar, who took it upon himself to push India past the 350-mark. He didn’t just hold the fort—he launched an assault.
At the end of the 84th over, Sundar was on a cautious 17 off 23 balls. But in the next 23 deliveries, he went into overdrive, racing to 53 with 4 sixes and 4 fours. The momentum had well and truly swung in India’s favour.
But just as the fireworks were peaking, Sundar miscued a big shot off Josh Tongue and was caught, bringing the curtains down on a fiery knock. With his dismissal, India were bowled out for 396 in their second innings, setting England a target of 374 runs to win.
