Indian men’s cricket team captain Rohit Sharma took to Instagram on Thursday (March 13) to share a picture of him with his four-month-old baby boy Ahaan. In the picture, which is now going viral on the internet, Rohit can be seen holding Ahaan and playing with his daughter Samaira at their home in Mumbai.

Ahaan was born on November 15, 2024. Rohit had missed the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia to be with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, at the time of their second child’s birth.

During India’s Champions Trophy Group A match against New Zealand on March 2, Virat Kohli’s wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma was seen playfully interacting with Ahaan during her conversation with Ritika.

Rohit, after leading India to the Champions Trophy 2025 title win, returned home on Monday (March 10). In the final played against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on March 9, Rohit scored 76 runs from 83 balls to help Black Caps chase down the target of 252 runs in 49 overs for the loss of six wickets. For his superb show with the bat in the summit clash, Rohit won the Player of the Match award.

He is the only captain in the history of the Champions Trophy to win the POTM award in the final and the overall fourth captain after Clive Lloyd, Ricky Ponting, and MS Dhoni to win the POTM award in the final of ICC events.

2nd Indian captain to win ICC titles

India’s win in the final of the 2025 Champions Trophy helped Rohit become the second Indian captain after MS Dhoni and the sixth overall in the world to win multiple ICC titles. Rohit won his first ICC trophy as Indian captain last year when Men in Blue defeated South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final played at Kensington Oval on June 29.

Dhoni won three ICC titles—2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy—as Indian captain during his 15-year-long international career. Ricky Ponting won four ICC titles—2003 ODI World Cup, 2006 Champions Trophy, 2007 ODI World Cup, and 2009 Champions Trophy—as Australia captain, and three more captains—Clive Lloyd, Daren Sammy, and Pat Cummins—have won two ICC titles each.
