SA20 2025 Live Streaming Details: The third edition of South Africa’s T20 league kickstarts from January 9

The third edition of the SA20 is all set to get underway from today with the opening game between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and MI Cape Town. The first fixture of this season’s SA20 is scheduled to be played at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. Having won the competition previously in 2023 and 2024, Sunrisers Eastern Cape will be aiming for a hat-trick.
With big names like Ottneil Baartman, Zak Crawley, Marco Jansen, Aiden Markram and Tristan Stubbs at their disposal, Sunrisers Eastern Cape certainly start as title favourites.
Apart from Sunrisers Eastern Cape, the other five teams participating in the competition are – Durban Super Giants, Joburg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, Paarl Royals and Pretoria Capitals. Overall, 34 matches will be played in this season’s edition of the SA20 with the final scheduled to take place at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on February 8.
Teams will take on others twice at the league stage. The top four teams will qualify for the playoffs. The top two sides will face off each other in Qualifier 1 with the winner directly advancing to the final. The third and fourth-placed teams will be up against each other in the Eliminator. The winner of the Eliminator will then take on the loser of Qualifier 1 to gain an entry into the final.
Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik is set to become the first-ever cricketer from India to take part in the SA20. Karthik, who has retired from all formers of Indian cricket, will ply his trade for the Paarl Royals as an overseas player. This will mark his first tournament since announcing his retirement last year.
Karthik last played for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Eliminator of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 following which the side had roped him in as a mentor-cum-batting coach.
SA20 Schedule, Date and Time: The SA20 will start from today, January 9, at St George’s Park in Gqeberha with Sunrisers Eastern Cape and MI Cape Town squaring off. The match will start at 9:00 PM IST.
