Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Friday celebrated Holi in the most memorable way possible, bringing joy and laughter to his International Masters League (IML) teammates in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. However, it wasn’t just the colours and festivities that stole the show — Tendulkar added a mischievous twist to the celebration by pulling off an epic prank on Yuvraj Singh.
The fun started when Tendulkar, along with his fellow IML teammates decided to sneak up on Yuvraj while he was still in his hotel room.
In a video shared by the batting icon on the social media platform X, Tendulkar revealed that Yuvraj had overslept after his match-winning performance the day before, where he smashed seven sixes in his stunning 59-run knock against Australia in the IML semi-final.
With a cheeky grin, Tendulkar explained that after Yuvraj’s heroics, it was time for him to take centre stage — but not with his bat. Instead, he had something much more colourful in mind. The team, led by Sachin, quietly approached Yuvraj’s room under the guise of hotel housekeeping staff. They knocked on the door, and as soon as Yuvraj opened it, they drenched him with a water gun attack.
“Holi fun with my @imlt20official teammates, from blue jerseys to colourful moments, this is how we say, “Happy Holi!”” Tendulkar posted alongside the playful video.
The prank didn’t end there. As Yuvraj, now soaked in water, joined the rest of the team on the lawn, the celebrations moved into full swing. Yusuf Pathan, not missing a beat, playfully drenched Tendulkar himself with a bucket of water, and the entire team got involved in the spirited chaos, all while being covered in vibrant colours.
The video showed the essence of the festive season and showed a lighter, fun-filled side of the cricketing icons. The festive mood was contagious, and it was clear that the team was relishing the moment as they let their hair down after an intense match.
On Thursday, India Masters had secured a dominant 94-run victory over Australia in the IML 2025 semi-final, which took place at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.
A dominant bowling performance led by Shahbaz Nadeem helped the Indian team help settle their score against the Aussies and now make their way to the final where they will meet the Sri Lanka Masters or the West Indies Masters.
Yuvraj Singh’s quickfire 59, coupled with cameos from the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Stuart Binnt and Yusuf Pathan, powered the India Masters to 220/7 in the first innings of the semi-final clash against Australia Masters.
