The Galaxy S26 Edge could be part of a new lineup next year
Samsung Galaxy S26 series is getting a major overhaul and that might have some iPhone-like changes next year. We’ve already seen reports about the S26 Plus model being replaced with the S26 Edge moniker, and now, the company might actually revamp the whole lineup to bring just three models in 2026.
Yes, the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus will be moved out of the series, instead you get the S26 Edge, S26 Pro and the S26 Ultra versions in the lineup for the next flagship series from the brand. All these details have been sourced from an internal One UI 8 build, quoted in this report.
Samsung Going All New With Galaxy S26 Next Year
The base Galaxy S26 model going away will surely be a surprise, especially since that allows more people to buy the affordable version. However, the news about S26 Plus giving way for the new Edge variant is hardly shocking, and its recent sales suggest the change was inevitable.
But we are also eager to see how Samsung plans to position the ‘Pro’ version, which might become the iPhone 17 Pro rival in the Android space, with premium features but a more compact design. It is still quite early to make these assumptions, with the Galaxy S26 series not expected before February 2026.
And before that, the brand has bigger things to handle, especially it plans to introduce its first-ever tri-foldable device before the end of 2025. The company also launched its Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 models last month, which have probably been the most polished versions in the Galaxy fold universe till date.
Samsung is ironing out the final bits of the new device to have it ready to launch before the year ends. We assume it could be around October or even November, once the iPhone 17 buzz is over.
Samsung’s tri-fold device is still a mystery at least in terms of the features and hardware but a new leak has hinted at its possible launch price. The details from South Korea suggest the Samsung tri-fold price could be around $3,000 (Rs 2.56 lakh approx) which takes it into the Apple Vision Pro territory.
