Saoirse Ronan’s husband Jack Lowden keeps disappointing her by refusing to perform a ‘cheesy karaoke duet’ of her choice.
The actress, 30, wants to channel her inner Lady Gaga with Jack playing her Bradley Cooper on a duet of Shallow from the movie A Star Is Born – which the Poker Face singer and Bradley star as two singers who fall in love.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, Saoirse said: ‘I’ve been desperate for myself and my husband Jack to do a cheesy karaoke duet.
‘It’s Shallow from A Star is Born. I want him to be my Bradley, and I’ll be his Gaga. And he won’t do it. He hasn’t committed.
‘And I’m sort of like, well, what’s marriage for? You know what I mean? What are we doing here?’

Saoirse and Jack, 34, started dating in 2018 and got married in 2024 in a wedding ceremony in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The actress recently joked about her ‘baby’ with Jack in rare discussion about their relationship.
Saoirse and Jack met while filming Mary Queen of Scots and secretly married in July this year after six years together.
Saoirse has remained fiercely private about their relationship and does not have a social media presence, but gave a small insight during a new interview.
Speaking on the Ryan Tubridy Show on Virgin Radio UK on Wednesday, she said it’s very much ‘here we go again’.
‘We’ve been together a long time, and we’ve had a really busy year with work,’ Saoirse explained.
She continued: ‘We have the Outrun out as well, which is a movie that we produced together and that’s kind of our baby right now.
‘So we’re putting a lot of time and our energy into that and we’re incredibly proud and excited about the reception that that’s gotten.

‘That’s still in the cinemas now as well for anyone who wants to go and see it. Again, I would really urge anyone to take the time out to go and see it in the cinema.
‘And yeah, we’re doing great – he’s doing the washing right now.’
She recently told British Vogue: ‘I became successful when I was quite young. So it meant that, actually, by the time I found my partner, I’m now at the stage where, if it happened, I would like to have a kid.
‘I feel fortunate enough that, if I step out of this for a minute, I’m hopefully not giving it up forever. But, yeah, I’ve always wanted that.’
Saoirse played the titular role while Jack played Lord Darnley, the Queen’s second husband, known for his salacious sexual nature. Their on-screen romance foreshadowed what was to come, and they started dating in December 2018.
The couple have recently produced The Outrun together, in which she stars as newly-rehabbed alcoholic Rona returning to her Orkney Islands hometown
The couple, who now share a £2.5million home in London together with their dog, Fran, have kept their relationship close to the chest over the years.
In 2019, a reporter for The Telegraph asked the Little Women actress: ‘Am I allowed to ask if you’re going out with the person that everyone thinks you’re going out with?’ Saoirse replied, ‘No,’ quickly putting an end to the discussion.
That same year, Jack mirrored Saoirse’s sentiments and refused to answer any questions about their relationship in an interview with ES Magazine.
‘Oh, I’m not going to talk about that. I don’t like talking about that side of life,’ he said.
Despite previous comments, the tide started to turn on social media, with Jack slowly introducing glimpses of his bond with Saoirse onto his indie Instagram feed.
