Saran Wrap victim’s reckless act BEFORE he began claustrophobic bondage play with California housewife

The man who died from bondage roleplay was dangerously drunk when a sex worker immobilized him in Saran Wrap before allegedly duct-taping a plastic bag over his head.

Michael Dale had a .33 percent blood alcohol content when he arrived unresponsive at a San Diego area hospital, according to a medical examiner’s report. 

It would have almost certainly been even higher four hours earlier when OnlyFans model and paid escort Michaela Rylaarsdam started Gorilla Gluing women’s boots to his feet and confining him in kitchen wrap, as he requested.  

Dale’s drunkenness is certain to be highlighted by both the prosecution and the defense in the murder case filed against Rylaarsdam, who charged $11,000 to carry out his elaborate fantasies of being tied up and dominated.

Police in Escondido, California, and San Diego County’s DA’s office have declined to speak publicly about Dale’s death – which the medical examiner attributed to asphyxiation in a report that authorities have sealed from the public but DailyMail.com has reviewed.

Prosecutors are expected to argue that Rylaarsdam, 31, knew Dale was so drunk that she should have questioned his ability to give informed consent. 

A .33 percent concentration of alcohol impairs brain function and judgment and can cause a loss of consciousness or even death. It is more than four times the legal driving limit in most states. 

Besides, ‘There is no evidence that Dale ever requested Rylaarsdam to place a bag over his head and secure it, which eventually caused him to suffocate and die,’ reads the arrest warrant from the case.

It noted that Rylaarsdam – who goes by the professional name Asshley SinCal – tied Dale’s wrists together and wrapped his hands and fingers in ways that he could not have used them to remove the bag and breathe.

Rylaarsdam’s defense lawyer Dan Cohen believes Dale’s alcohol consumption that evening ‘may have caused respiratory failure’ and vomit that could have blocked his airways.

‘At this point, I’m not taking the coroner’s medical evaluation at face value,’ Cohen told DailyMail.com.

Rylaarsdam is due to appear in court in Vista, California, on Wednesday.

After chatting about BDSM — short for bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, sadism and masochism — they met in person on April 17, 2023, at a home in Escondido in which he had lived for just three days.

She complied with his requests to bind him tightly ‘like a mummy’ in Saran Wrap and superglue his feet into a pair of knee-high women’s boots that he had asked her to buy for him. 

Records show he had also wanted her to superglue a sex toy in his mouth and pour Gorilla Glue into his eyes to keep them shut.

But she drew a line, Cohen said. ‘She told [police] she didn’t do everything he asked her to do. 

‘There were times when he said stop and she stopped.’

According to the arrest warrant, Rylaarsdam spent at least eight minutes filming herself masturbating with a vibrator as video content for her OnlyFans account while Dale, visibly wrapped up and unable to move, suffocated behind her. 

When she realized he wasn’t breathing, she yelled for one of his housemates to call 911 and performed CPR until emergency responders arrived.

Dale was found to be brain dead at the Palomar Medical Center and was taken off life support four days later.

Rylaarsdam cooperated with police, answering their questions both the night of and the day after the incident and agreeing to let investigators download her phone records. 

Her messages to and from Dale, texts with her husband about allegedly squeezing more money out of Dale than originally agreed upon, and her photographs and footage while Dale was suffocating contain most of the evidence against her, a source told DailyMail.com.

The mother of three from Rancho Cucamonga, California, remained free for nearly two years until this Valentine’s Day when she was charged with murder and booked without bail in the Las Colinas Detention Facility near San Diego.

In California, prosecutors don’t specify first- or second-degree murder in charging decisions, leaving it up to juries or judges to determine defendants’ intent.

The medical examiner’s report shows Dale told Rylaarsdam that he had drunk a fifth of vodka before she arrived at his rented room. 

The owner of the nondescript ranch home it is in didn’t want to discuss the tenant.

‘We’re not really friends with the people who rent here, so we didn’t know anything about him,’ the owner’s daughter told DailyMail.com.

The medical examiner’s report lists Dale’s address as a rehab center in Canoga Park, a neighborhood in northern Los Angeles.

The report shows that Dale struggled with chronic alcoholism and that he had hypertension and diabetes and was taking taking trazodone for depression at the time of his death. 

Police found that he messaged his addiction sponsor admitting that he had been drinking heavily in the days before his death.

Defense attorney Cohen says Dale had nodded off at points during his rendezvous with Rylaarsdam: ‘There were times when he fell asleep and she kept saying, “Wake up, wake up or I’m going home”.’

It’s unclear whether the escort knew that his slips into unconsciousness were due to alcohol or if she just thought he was asleep.

Little is known about Dale other than that he was white, 6ft 2in tall, weighed 250lbs, had brown hair and hazel eyes, and that his face was unshaven and stubbled when he died.

Records show he was born and spent most of his life in Missouri where he may have worked for a linen company and a café. 

They list six arrest filings against him — four in Missouri and two in Kansas. Three involved alcohol-related incidents.

Records show that Dale’s mother still lives in Missouri, but was not notified of her son’s death until four days after he was taken off life support. She has not responded to DailyMail.com’s phone calls.
