Actor Sheezan Khan paid tribute to his Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul co-star Tunisha Sharma on her second death anniversary.
It has been two years since actress Tunisha Sharma died by suicide leaving the television industry and her fans in shock. The actress passed away in December 2022 on the sets of her show, Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul, where she was allegedly found hanging in a makeup room. Remembering the late actress on her death anniversary, Sheezan Khan, her former co-star and close friend, paid a heartfelt tribute.
He shared a video on Instagram which featured their precious moments on the sets of Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul. The video showcased snippets of their fun-filled times. In the caption, Sheezan wrote, “Tu Yahin Hai, Yahin Kahin Hai! #alikimariam #ThenAndForever.”
The post received a flood of responses including his sister, Falaq Naaz, who dropped a white dove and heart emoji in the comments. Actresses Sayantani Ghosh and Aastha Chaudhary also left heart emojis to convey their condolences.
In August, Sheezan marked the second anniversary of Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul with a heartfelt Instagram post. He shared a series of throwback pictures from the sets, featuring himself in his Ali Baba avatar and moments with Tunisha. One picture showed him holding Tunisha’s hand, while another captured them smiling joyfully for the camera.
Alongside the photos, Sheezan wrote, “I promise you that. Everything is going to be alright. The devils, the hyenas on your head will become smaller and you will become bigger. There will be difficult days but they will pass, I promise. Tricky times will come and you’ll want to throw in the towel. Please don’t do it. Fight, push, continue. Cause everything’s gonna be alright. I promise you that.”
Reports revealed that Tunisha and Sheezan had broken up just 15 days before her passing. Following her death, Sheezan was arrested after her mother accused him of abetment to suicide. However, he was granted bail in March 2023.
In an interview later, Sheezan spoke about how his life changed after Tunisha’s death. He shared that he struggled emotionally and would often cry for hours, even after returning home from jail.
Talking about a difficult time, he told ETimes, “I broke down when my bail plea was rejected in January, fearing that I could be languishing inside for a year or more. After being released on bail, I couldn’t sleep properly for 70 days. I felt like a stranger in my own home and would often cry for hours. I was diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I’m grateful to my family for standing by me through this ordeal.”
