Surveillance and police camera footage reveals that a drunk driver almost slammed into the vehicle carrying Vice President Kamala Harris earlier this year.
Wayne Wacker, 55, was driving the completely opposite direction on the highway as Harris’ motorcade was driving through Wisconsin after a rally, according to footage released by Code Blue Cam.
The vice president was in the final stretch of her presidential campaign on October 21, 2024 when the incident occurred.
Harris’ motorcade was headed to the airport on I-94 after her rally in Brookfield, Wisconsin when Wacker almost caused a crash with the convoy as he drove the opposite direction of traffic flow on the shoulder of the highway.
The misdirected car passed 29 vehicles part of Harris’ convoy before a Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Deputy at the rear of the motorcade stopped Wacker.
It’s unclear how the driver was able to approach Harris’ motorcade considering the high level of protection the vice president’s fleet usually receives, including local authorities blocking off nearby roads to prevent other vehicles from gaining access.
Deputies intervened and stopped Wacker just before the entire motorcade passed him by.
Code Blue Cam released the footage of the incident and ensuing interactions on Sunday to its YouTube page dedicated to ‘providing unbiased and authentic footage of incidents captured on body cams.’

The 18-minute video includes a shot surveillance video clip that shows Wacker’s car driving in the opposite direction just feet from the motorcade.
The rest of the footage is from the body cams of multiple officers who responded to the scene and shows them finding an empty Miller Lite beer can in the vehicle.
They immediately noted that Wacker appeared to be heavily intoxicated.
‘Where are you coming from tonight, my boss?’ an officer asked as Wacker fumbled looking for his license to present to law enforcement.
‘You don’t know? Clearly had a little too much to drink even with your Miller Lite here, huh?’
‘Doesn’t matter,’ Wacker replied, apathetically before officers told him to give up on the search for his ID and to get out of his car.
An officer asked Wacker: ‘Where are you coming from then?’
‘Down south,’ he replied.
‘You know you could have killed somebody, right? You’re going the wrong way in traffic, man, on a very busy highway here. You understand that?’ he asked.

Asked how much he had to drink, Wacker slurred his words when he claimed: ‘A couple of beers.’
The officers then put him through a field sobriety test after Wacker informed them of his name when he was unable to find his ID to give to the police.
Wacker was wearing glasses and a black shirt that had an image of an axe and said ‘Viking World Tour’ along with a list of years when Viking raiders invaded different countries throughout history.
