An elderly man was seen being violently tossed to the ground by a police officer after he told the cop to ‘shut up’.
On October 27, Lich Vu, 70 and a woman got into a car accident after she struck his vehicle on Northwest 39th Street near Meridian Avenue in Oklahoma City.
An unnamed officer soon arrived at the scene, where he issued a ticket to the female driver and one to Lich for an ‘improper U-turn’.
The older man soon became upset that he was getting a ticket, and refused to sign the citation, as the officer told him he would be arrested if he didn’t.
Bodycam footage showed Lich trying to explain what happened during the collision, as he lightly tapped the cop on his chest and told him to ‘shut up,’ before the officer slammed him to the pavement and handcuffed him.
The elderly driver was taken to the hospital where he is now being treated for a brain bleed and neck fracture, according to an update posted to Facebook by his daughter Teresa Vu.

Video of the confrontation started with the cop telling Lich that he was issuing him a ticket, as the driver sat in his car.
After telling Lich that he was getting a ticket for an ‘improper U-turn’, the elderly man immediately said: ‘I didn’t U-turn.’
The cop then specified that at the intersection where Vu and the woman collided, he should not have been next to her, and instead behind her.
The officer then asked Lich to sign the citation as the old man appeared confused.
‘So, I’m writing and issuing you a citation for improper U-turn,’ the officer said as Lich chimed in: ‘Me, citation?’
‘She hitting me and I got the citation,’ Lich added just before he got out of the car to point at the road where the accident occurred.
Before the violent incident, the officer explained to Lich that he was getting a ticket for an ‘improper U-turn’
The officer quickly slammed the 70-year-old to the pavement after he lightly tapped him on his chest and told the cop to ‘shut up’
Lich and his wife, who was with him at the time of the accident, remained adamant that he did not make a U-turn.
Lich then grew upset and pointed toward the cop before walking away, as the officer said ‘we are done arguing about this.’
The officer then pointed toward the ticket and told Lich he would be arrested if he refused to sign it.
‘Yeah I go to jail. I’m ready to go to jail,’ Lich responded.
The cop grew visibly angry and walked away from the couple to speak to the other driver who parked next to them in a nearby parking lot.
After explaining the ticket to the female driver, the cop made his way back to Lich and his wife as he called for backup, saying the elderly man was ‘wanting to go to jail’.
At one point, Lich’s wife, who was with him at the time of the collision, tried to explain to the cop what happened
Lich’s wife then stepped in and again explained what happened, before her husband made his way back over.
Lich then tapped the officer on his chest and told him to ‘shut up,’ as the cop whipped the elderly man around and pinned him to the ground.
His wife then pleaded for the officer to call an ambulance as her husband laid on the ground with his head turned to one side.
‘Yeah, I’m gonna call an ambulance,’ the officer responded as he handcuffed Lich who appeared unconscious.
A day after the horrific incident, Lich’s daughter, Teresa took to social media to share how ‘disappointed and upset’ she was with the Oklahoma City Police Department.
‘This is not how you treat someone that is 5’3, 115 lbs with bone cancer after a car accident. Especially if English is their second language,’ she said.

‘I will never forget this, especially if my dad cannot recover and passes away.’
She then shared that her father ‘is a little cleaned up now,’ but still has ‘dents on the side of head and his eye is swollen shut.’
‘His neck is fractured anteriorly and posteriorly. He can barely speak but he said thank you for all the support and prayers,’ Teresa added.
On Wednesday she shared pictures of her father in the hospital with visible bruises and scrapes on his arms and face.
‘He’s conscious now; he can speak and recognize people. Sometimes he gets frustrated because he can’t remember why he’s there or how he got there, which is understandable.
‘He can’t swallow anything properly because of his neck fracture; they have an NG tube to give him continuous feedings and hydrations,’ she added.
She made it clear that even though her father is physically doing better, she plans to get justice for him.

Following the violent moment, the Oklahoma City Police Department told News 9 that after Lich struck the officer, he ‘resisted and fell.’
The department then released an update on the incident and said it is ‘investigating a use of force incident involving an officer.’
‘During the officer’s investigation, there was a use of force and an elderly man sustained serious injuries that required hospitalization,’ the department said.
The unidentified officer has since been placed on administrative paid leave ‘pending the conclusion of the investigation.’
‘The Oklahoma City Police Department is dedicated to transparency and accountability,’ the department added.
News 9 reported that the officer has been with the department for six years and his disciplinary record is not ‘publicly available’.
