Sobhita revealed that oiling her hair is a self-care ritual rather than a beauty trend.
Sobhita Dhulipala is frequently spotted at events with her striking jet-black hair, styled gracefully to complement her outfits. For her wedding, she chose simple braided hairstyles that captured hearts online with their understated beauty. In a past interview with Tweak India and an article in Hindustan Times, she shared the secret to her gorgeous hair—a time-honoured ritual that many of us have followed since childhood.
Sobhita shared that one of her traditional beauty practices is occasionally oiling her hair. She explained that this habit is rooted more in self-care than beauty. Reflecting on her past, she mentioned having very long hair, which she later cut after moving to Mumbai. She revealed that oiling her hair was a way to manage its length and texture, making it easier to braid. For her, this ritual is more about maintaining a personal care routine than pursuing beauty standards.
Benefits of oiling hair:
- Strengthens Hair Roots: Oiling delivers essential nutrients like vitamins and fatty acids directly to the hair roots, fortifying them and reducing hair fall. Regular oiling strengthens the hair shaft, making it less prone to breakage and damage.
- Improves Hair Texture: Oils help lock in moisture, smoothing the hair cuticles and making your hair softer and shinier. Over time, this improves overall hair manageability and reduces frizz.
- Prevents Dryness and Dandruff: Massaging oil into the scalp hydrates it, reducing dryness that often leads to dandruff. It also soothes itchiness and creates a healthy environment for the scalp.
- Protects Against Environmental Damage: Oiling forms a protective barrier on your hair, shielding it from pollution, UV rays, and harsh weather conditions. This prevents split ends and keeps your hair looking healthier.
- Promotes Relaxation and Better Sleep: A gentle head massage with oil relaxes the mind by relieving stress and tension. This promotes better sleep, which is crucial for overall hair health.
- Stimulates Blood Circulation: Massaging oil onto the scalp enhances blood flow, delivering oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles. This encourages faster hair growth and reduces thinning over time.
