Soccer player’s former girlfriend reveals shocking injuries as she presses assault charges

A Brazilian influencer has shared disturbing images depicting the alleged abused she suffered at the hands of her former boyfriend, Caio Paulista, a soccer player from Serie A club Palmeiras.

Clara Monteiro made the allegations public for the first time Saturday via her Instagram and pressed charges Tuesday at the São Paulo Civil Police 1st Women’s Defense Precinct.

Monteiro, who shares a daughter with Paulista, shared an open letter with her 38,800 followers in which she provided photo and video evidence of her bruised body.

Her right cheek appeared swollen in one of the pictures she took after one of the beatings – all of which reportedly transpired in 2023.

‘I thought countless times about whether I would really expose my life here, but I simply had no other option. I am exhausted,’ Monteiro wrote in Portuguese. ‘I have already exceeded my limits. I’m tired. I am tired of keeping quiet, I am tired of hiding and sabotaging myself several times due to this situation.’

Several photos displayed the multiple bruises she was left with after Paulista allegedly hit her left and right eyes.

Additional footage revealed bruises on her leg and her back.

‘Today I am writing this open letter to myself, about something that haunts me day and night,’ she wrote, ‘and I know that I will carry with me throughout my life, this scar and this trauma mixed with this feeling of anguish inside me.’

On Monday, she reposted the letter and photos on her Instagram Reels, which had more than 100,000 views as of Tuesday evening.

‘I’m not here after so long to let it go unnoticed, and I know that many women go through this every day,’ Monteiro wrote.

‘I want all women to read it and be sure that no matter how difficult it is, you can indeed get out of psychological, physical and verbal aggression,’ she added. ‘I wish strength to all women who go through this and getting out of it is very difficult, but it is not impossible.’
