Dewangini Vyas is widely known for her stint in the Sunny Leone and Tanuj Virwani-hosted dating reality show Splitsvilla 15. Although she couldn’t win the show, her bond with co-contestant Divyansh Pokharna continues to grab attention. Recently, during an interview, the content creator got emotional as she recalled a traumatic epilepsy fit and the devastating effects caused by a misdiagnosis.
Speaking to Rushali and Harsh on their podcast show, Dewangini said, “In 2015-16, I experienced an epileptic fit. It’s a neurological disorder. And then I got treated wrongly. The medications were incorrect, and I developed large blisters all over my body from head to toe. I couldnt eat, sleep, and sit. I couldn’t even see clearly. In a neurological condition, you constantly forget people. It was a terrible moment. I was in the ICU for 15 days. I couldn’t eat anything during that time.”
She added, “On the 16th day, my father came to me and told me, very emotionally, that doctors had urged me to eat anything or die. For 16 days, nothing was inside my body. For six months, I received the wrong treatment. The side that needed to be treated was not the one they focussed on. I was not improving. I changed the doctor who informed me of my wrong treatment. Then I received excellent treatment, and nothing big occurred after 2017.”
Her longtime boyfriend, Divyansh, on the other hand, shared that he never witnessed her have an epileptic fit until 2024 when the Splitsvilla shoot happened.
Reacting to this, Dewangini said, “I never wanted to appear in front of Divyansh because I didn’t want to reveal my side. But my mother said that you can’t find a partner who will accept you with all of your realities.”
Both Dewangini and Divyansh often grab the fans’ attention with their adorable videos together on Instagram. Recently, the two made a video on the song Rang Laga from The Bhootnii, showcasing how Dewangini’s life changed after Divyansh’s arrival. “Zindagi sach m bohot colourful ho chuki h,” the video caption reads.
