Typically, snakes emerge from their burrows and start roaming in the bushes or around houses. Occasionally, they even find their way inside homes, which poses a serious danger.
In such a scenario, during the monsoon season, when moisture and greenery are abundant, it is crucial to take preventive measures around our homes to keep these poisonous animals, especially snakes, at bay.
To prevent snakes from entering the house during this season, some common items available in grocery stores can be utilised. Additionally, several household kitchen items can also be effective.
One such item is vinegar, which is commonly found in most kitchens. Vinegar can be used to deter snakes from entering the house due to its strong odour. It can be sprinkled in the corners of the house or in areas where snakes are likely to appear. Alternatively, vinegar-soaked cotton can be placed in these spots, as its sourness and strong smell will keep snakes at bay.
Ammonia is another effective substance to repel snakes. By soaking a cloth in ammonia and placing it in potential entry points, the strong smell will deter snakes from approaching.
Clove and cinnamon, usually found in every kitchen, can also be highly effective in keeping snakes away. Snakes are repelled by the strong smell of clove and cinnamon oil.
Mixing these oils with a little water and placing it around the house’s entry points or spraying it in vulnerable areas can significantly reduce the risk of snakes entering.
