The View host Joy Behar was left speechless after receiving a dramatic dressing down by Stephen A. Smith on her show.
On Tuesday, ESPN star Smith appeared on The View to discuss President Trump – but heated discussions turned sour when Behar put up resistance about accepting Kamala Harris’ defeat to the Republican.
Behar started by addressing Trump’s first few weeks in office, proclaiming that his first six weeks ‘feels like six years, doesn’t it?’
‘And he’s been going around with his cronies, toting his so-called “landslide” and “blow out win” but he won the popular vote by 1.5 percent, one of the smallest ever, and he won the general election by less than 50 percent. So what is this mandate, really?’ she said.
Smith took no time putting Behar in her place with his scathing response.
He defiantly said: ‘It is a mandate, and I’m going to tell you why,’ before stating that he is not a supporter of Trump, but instead he is a supporter of ‘truth.’
The View guest then swept the floor with Behar’s lousy argument, telling her that Trump won ‘every swing state’ and increased his voter turnout in the black, Hispanic, and young people demographics.
‘Eighty nine percent of the counties shifted to the right,’ Smith said, before raising his voice to the panel: ‘That’s a mandate!’

‘I don’t understand how people can look at that and say “that’s no mandate.”‘
The ‘First Take’ host warned the left against looking at the small gap in vote share and believing they are close to having a winning strategy.
‘I want somebody to step up and recognize: that man in the Oval Office – whether you like it or not – is potent, he’s coming and he wins. You have to find a way to beat him. This way is not the way,’ he said.
‘The problem is if you’re the Democratic party and you lost 49.8 percent to 48.3 percent and you’re looking at that 1.5 percent difference.
‘That’s an excuse for you to say: “What we did really wasn’t that bad. We should continue to do that.” No, find a new strategy.’
The ESPN star conceded that it is possible that some groups – such as Black and Latino voters – might regret voting for the 78-year-old.
‘But in the end, what it comes down to is this: the American people, in their eyes it wasn’t about him. They were voting against what the Democrats were throwing in their direction.’
In recent weeks, Smith shocked Bill Maher’s audience with his blunt verdict on why Trump won a second term in the White House – and admitted why he feels like a ‘damn fool’ for supporting Harris.

As a result of his hot takes, which have gone viral, Smith has generated a lot of support for a potential presidential bid.
Smith, who previously spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com about a possible foray into the world of politics, has repeatedly hinted at running on the Democratic ticket in 2028 since Kamala Harris’ defeat to Trump at the ballot box in November.
Despite his insistence that he has no desire to be president, the 57-year-old claimed that he would beat any candidate the Democratic party put forward.
Smith previously talked up his chances of running for the White House in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com at the Super Bowl.
‘Assuming that I’m well off, that I have lots of money, and money is no longer a concern, if the American people came to me and looked at me and said “Yo, man, we want you to run for office”, and I had a legitimate shot to win the presidency of the United States, I’m not gonna lie. I’ll think about that,’ he said.
‘But I gotta have my money. I’m not gonna go to the White House broke. I’m not gonna do that. I gotta have my money. I gotta have my home. I gotta have my financial situation completely taken care of. I have no concerns if that happens for me.
‘If they told me I had a legitimate, bonafide shot to win the presidency of the United States of America, I would entertain it.
‘Because the part that I’m not joking about is I believe I could beat every candidate on that poll. Every candidate that they mentioned, from Kamala Harris right on down to (Pete) Buttigieg and to Tim Walz. I’d beat all of them. I do believe that. I really do.’
