Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday condemned the arrest and denial of bail to ISKCON Bangladesh Priest Chinmoy Krishna Das and sought the United Nations intervention over the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.

Kalyan urged Muhammad Yunus, chief advisor to the interim government, to stop atrocities on the Hindu community in the neighboring country.

The Deputy Chief Minister also reminded Bangladesh of India’s contribution to the creation of Bangladesh and said that the Indian Army jawans laid their lives to liberate Bangladesh from the clutches of Pakistan.

Massive protests have erupted, including from the Ministry of External Affairs, over the arrest and denial of bail to Krishna Das who was held by the Dhaka Police’s Detective Branch at Dhaka airport on November 25.

Kalyan called upon the Hindu community to condemn the incident and sought the UN intervention on the matter.

“Let’s all unite together in condemning the detention of ISKCON Bangladesh Priest ‘Chinmoy Krishna Das’ by Bangladesh police. We urge and plead Bangladesh Govt under Sri Mohammed Yunus to stop atrocities on Hindus. Indian army blood has been spilled, our resources had been spent, our Army Jawans’ lives had been lost for Bangladesh formation. We are deeply disturbed the way our Hindu brothers and sisters are being targeted. We plead @UN @UNinIndia to intervene,” Kalyan posted on X.
