Premier League giants Manchester United picked up a 3-0 win over Leicester on Monday to move upto the 13th spot in the English top-flight in a sub-par season that have been incredibly tumultuous for the fabled Mancunian club.

Goals from Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund helped the Red Devils down the Foxes at the King Power Stadium as Hojlund brought an end to a scoreless run since December last year.

The Danish striker expressed his delight in getting back on the scoresheet but iterated that there were more concerns than just popping the ball into the back of the net as his overall performances have been sub-standard, and that is something the 22-year-old seeks to change moving forward.

“I’m obviously very happy to get my goal and it gives me a lot of confidence,” Hojlund said.

“I think it comes down to my performances as well,” the Dane added.

“I think obviously I’ve not been on top of my game as I wanted to, and we’re still adapting to a new system and some new positions,” he continued.

“But I think I’ve been growing into it lately and starting to look a bit better,” he added.

United head coach Ruben Amorim has been under the scanner ever since his move to England from Sporting in Portugal as he looks to salvage what he can from a lacklustre season in hopes of building towards a future befitting the stature of the storied United.

Amorim has shifted to a five-man defence since his arrival at Old Trafford and while it might take United a while to get accustomed to it, the Portuguese boss looks to be confident with his methods and approach.

Hojlund revealed that Amorim has instructed the striker to make the pitch as big as possible and move into the channels when the chance does arise.

“Amorim wants me to stretch the pitch, I think that’s quite obvious and get me into the channels and keep the centre-backs occupied,” he said.

“That’s what I’m trying to do. I think I’ve got a good amount of speed and that’s what I’m here for,” he assured.
