Strictly’s Gorka Márquez has revealed he begged his celebrity partner Dr Punam Krishnan for advice on how not to chafe in his PVC trousers on Saturday night.
BBC viewers were left very hot under the collar on Saturday’s live show as Gorka sported the racy trousers and a see-through top for his and Punam’s foxtrot.
But it seems the Spanish dancer, 34, had concerns about the skintight bottoms ahead of the routine, as he turned to his doctor partner for advice on how best to avoid chafing.
Appearing on Strictly It Takes Two on Thursday, Punam said: ‘We were just about to go on for the announcement of couples and he’s like, “What do I put on? Do I put on powder, do I put on cream, so I put on Sudocrem?” And I was like, “Not now, Gorka, not now!”.’
Host Janette Manrara chimed in to say that he must have asked Dr Punam because she was ‘a woman’, Gorkainterrupted to confirm it was because she was a doctor.

‘I was in good hands!’ he said of his partner, who is a GP.
‘He’s like, “What’s going to make me chafe the least?”‘, Punam added of their exchange, explaining she said: ‘Just dance, will you!’
During It Takes Two, Gorka said of his trousers: ‘Couldn’t look at myself in those trousers – so tight!’
He then told Janette a phrase it reminded him of in Spanish, which she confirmed meant: ‘Tighter than the nails in a submarine.’
Before even setting foot on the dancefloor, the professional dancer left fans swooning as he modelled the skintight PVC trousers and a see-through top while walking down the stairs with Punam.
But while some were getting excited for the dances to come, others were more interested in what the sizzling Spaniard was wearing – and they were very impressed indeed.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans were quick to share their appreciation for Gorka’s outfit.
They penned: ‘Omg. I can’t take my eyes off Gorka when he’s on screen,’; ‘Ohhh Gorka!’; ‘Can’t stop thinking about Gorka’s PVC trousers,’;

‘Holy hell Gorka, are those things sprayed on?!!’; Gorka has never looked hotter!’; ‘I wouldn’t normally like a man in PVC trousers but Gorka is looking fine.’
Gorka later continued to stun as he and Punam took to the dancefloor to perform a foxtrot to Shania Twain’s Man! I Feel Like A Woman!
And while the TV doctor channeled the country singer in a top hat and tuxedo-style gown, Gorka wowed fans as he added to his racy look with a pair of dark shades.

Despite their red hot routine, the couple only scored 18 out of 40 points, one down from last week’s score.
Critiquing the dance, Motsi Mabuse said she ‘loved the sass and styling but for the ballroom partnering, your posture let you down’, while Anton Du Beke commented: ‘stylish, tremendous open work but went floppy in hold.’
Shirley Ballas said: ‘strong and dynamic upper half but weaker downstairs’, with Craig Revel Horwood concluding that it was ‘heading towards invertebrate, lacked tone’.
