Sugandha Mishra, known for her character Vidyavati in The Kapil Sharma Show, is all set to make her acting comeback with the comedy show Wagle Ki Duniya, wherein she will be seen playing a pivotal role. The actress took a break from acting to welcome her first child with her husband and TV actor Sanket Bhonsale. The couple became parents to a baby girl in 2023. Recently, during an interview, Sugandha opened up about her new role and how motherhood brought dimensions to her acting.
Speaking about her new character with Times of India, the actress stated, “I was instantly in love with it. The way J.D. sir narrated the character was magic. His comic timing is unmatched, and he created this wonderfully rich character with a unique, weird twist. I couldn’t resist.”
In the show, Sugandha will be seen playing Suman, who has an unpredictable personality with a juicy revenge arc. When asked about whether she relates with her character in real life, she said, “Not at all. I’m a total drama queen in real life too. Suman just felt like an exaggerated version of my everyday self!”
“Performing challenging scenes, especially with famous people like Bharti Achrekar ji, was both nerve-racking and inspirational. But the entire team felt like home. I’ve always been a Bollywood buff—growing up copying Rekha ji and Sridevi ji—and portraying Suman was a dream come true,” she added.
Furthermore, talking about the changes she felt after embracing motherhood, the actress stated, “It has made me more composed and creative. With my daughter’s limited screen time, I’m constantly coming up with new methods to keep her entertained—beatboxing, hilarious voices, and goofy rhymes. She’s only 15 months old and already mimics animal sounds—it’s the sweetest thing ever!”
“Being on set, immersing myself in Suman, and then returning home to my little one is a perfect balance. No matter how exhausting my day has been, her smile instantly recharges me. Nothing compares to that,” the actress concluded.
Sugandha has also appeared in shows like The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Baal Veer, Comedy Nights With Kapil, The Drama Company, Kanpur Wale Khuranas and others.
