She is the instantly recognisable actress whose part in hit TV show Mad Men saw her frequently quizzed about her body confidence.

Now US star Christina Hendricks has chosen a Scottish tailor to create a wardrobe of outfits that best suit her famous curves.

The actress, 49, was snapped as she attended a private fitting at Stewart Christie & Co in Edinburgh.

The picture shows a smiling Ms Hendricks posing with the company’s designer and co-owner, Vixy Rae.

The star’s choice of tailor also means that her outfits will come with royal credentials – Ms Rae has also worked as a judge for a textile competition organised on behalf of King Charles.

Ms Hendricks has been filming in Glasgow for Apple TV period drama The Buccaneers.

The series follows a group of young American women in the 1870s as they are sent to London to find husbands and titles, and hilarious culture clashes ensue.

Scenes have been filmed at the city’s Mitchell Library, which doubles as a US courthouse.

Horses and carriages, as well as historical street signs and postboxes, were all brought in to transform the city street into a 19th Century American scene.
