Hafiz Talha Saeed, son of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist and 2008 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, gave a provocative speech at a rally organised to mark the so-called Kashmir Solidarity Day of Pakistan in Lahore.

While speaking out against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah at the rally where Hamas representatives were present too, Talha Saeed also demanded that his father Hafiz Saeed be released and promised to “liberate Kashmir from India at any cost”.

Top intelligence sources said that after the Financial Action Task Force, an intergovernmental organisation supposed to set international standards to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, relaxed its curbs on Pakistan, the army released all jihadis to PoK.

The sources said Talha Saeed’s speech was guided by the Pakistan army and staged under a strategy.

This is state-sponsored terrorism by supporting banned international groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, they added.

Talha Saeed is a senior leader of LeT, designated as a terrorist organisation by the UN, US, India, and others.

He is known for his inflammatory rhetoric against India and his role in mobilising support for Kashmir-related issues in Pakistan.

The rally was organised by JuD/LeT-linked groups in Rawalakot, where Hamas leaders were also present.

This event was to criticise India’s policies in Jammu and Kashmir, especially after the revocation of Article 370 sections in 2019.

“The Pakistan army is isolated and under pressure,” said a source. “These speeches are part of a broader narrative pushed by JuD/LeT to rally domestic support in Pakistan and project India as an adversary. The group exploits the Kashmir issue to legitimise its activities and maintain relevance. We will show these to agencies like FATF, as it violates Financial Action Task Force guidelines on curbing terror financing.”

Pakistan was removed from the FATF “grey list” in 2022 but remains under scrutiny.

Talha Saeed’s speech confirms the role of militant groups in Pakistan’s Kashmir narrative, the sources said.
