DYogesh Mahajan, known for his performance in the TV serial Shiv Shakti: Tap Tyaag Tandav, recently passed away following a sudden heart attack in his Umergaon flat. He was 44. The news of his demise has sent shock waves to the entire TV industry. Now, a few days after the actor’s death, his close friend and colleague Tarun Khanna opened up about his bond with Yogesh.

Speaking to ETimesTV, Tarun shared, “He was like my brother. He was a fit guy and had worked in many TV shows over the past two decades.” He further recalled that the late actor fell ill on the sets of their show Shiv Shakti and a spot boy accompanied him to his home after wrapping up.

“On January 18 (the day before his untimely death), he complained of gas problems and was treated by a doctor. After the shoot, he returned home with a spot boy because he wasn’t feeling good. He even offered to stay behind, but Yogesh insisted he’d be fine. When he failed to arrive at the set the next morning, the production crew rushed to his flat and found him unconscious,” Tarun said. The actor added, “Yogesh was immediately rushed to the hospital, where the doctors said he had passed away much earlier due to a cardiac arrest. It’s quite disturbing.”

Talking about Yogesh’s family, Tarun said, “His wife and their five-year-old son live in Borivali. We are a large group of friends, and we have worked out to help Yogesh’s family and care for his son till he grows up and stands on his own feet.”

Yogesh’s other co-actor Srikant Dwidedi, on the other hand, shared, “I still can’t believe he’s no longer with us. Everyone is saddened and shocked by what has happened. He fondly called me Srikant ji, and we spent a lot of time speaking on set. We even resided in the same building in Umbergaon. He was always cheerful and full of life.”

Apart from Shiv Shakti, he has also appeared in several other TV shows including Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev, Adaalat, Shrimad Ramayan and Jai Shri Krishna.
