Tata Steel Share Price: Tata Steel shares will be in focus on Monday after Rs 1000-cr show cause-cum demand notice from tax authorities. The steel manufacturer informed in the filing that it has received a show cause-cum demand notice from state tax authorities over “alleged irregular availment of Input Tax Credit” in violation of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 for the FY2018-19 through FY2022-23.
“On June 28, 2025, Tata Steel Limited (‘Company’) received a Show Cause cum demand Notice dated June 27, 2025 (‘SCN’), issued by the Office of the
Commissioner (Audit), Central Tax, Ranchi, proposing to disallow/demand primarily on account of alleged irregular availment of Input Tax Credit in contravention of the provisions of Section 74(1) of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017/State Goods and Services Act, 2017 (‘CGST/SGST’) read with Section 20 Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (‘IGST’) for the period FY2018-19 through FY2022-23,” the company said in the filing.
Tata Steel said that the SCN has no merits and the company will make its submissions before the Appropriate forum within the given timelines.
There is no impact on financial, operational, or other activities of the Company, arising from the said SCN.
Tata Steel Q4 Results
Tata Steel’s net profit surged fourfold in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2025, exceeding analysts’ expectations. The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,300 crore, compared to Rs 326.64 crore in the previous quarter. This figure surpassed the Bloomberg consensus estimate of Rs 1,160.4 crore.
The revenue increased by 4.8% to Rs 56,218 crore, compared to Rs 53,648.3 crore. The Ebitda rose by 11.12% to Rs 6,560 crore from Rs 5,903 crore, slightly below the estimated Rs 6,616.1 crore. Additionally, the margin expanded by 66 basis points to 11.66%, surpassing the forecasted 11.5%. The substantial rise in net profit highlights Tata Steel’s strong performance in this quarter.
