Tatjana Maria soared 43 spots to 43rd in the WTA rankings published on Monday, following her remarkable triumph at Queen’s.
The 37-year-old mother of two, who battled through two rounds of qualifying to enter the main draw, made history by becoming the oldest winner of a WTA 500 event, defeating American Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 6-4 in Sunday’s final.
Maria, the first female champion at Queen’s since Olga Morozova 52 years ago, is now just one spot shy of her career-high ranking of 42, achieved last year.
The top three positions remained unchanged with Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, and Jessica Pegula. Zheng Qinwen moved up one spot to fourth, marking her highest ranking after reaching the semi-finals at Queen’s.
Jasmine Paolini dropped to fifth, while Iga Swiatek, who has yet to compete on grass after a challenging clay season, slipped to eighth.
