Texas Senator Ted Cruz claimed the White House didn’t let him speak with President Joe Biden during his term, as more details about the former leader’s mental decline continue to emerge.
Cruz, 54, claimed on his podcast on Thursday that he never once saw Biden, 82, during his presidency and that White House staff were hiding the ailing politician.
‘They were clearly hiding him,’ the Texan told his cohost Ben Ferguson. ‘I’m in the Senate the whole time. How many times do you think I spoke with Joe Biden while he was president?
‘Zero, not a single time, and that is bizarre.’
Cruz – who was sworn into the Senate by Biden in 2012 – said he has calls with Trump almost weekly and had previously worked with Obama on many occasions, but it was not the case with Biden.
‘I spoke with Obama regularly. With Trump, I speak with him often every week, sometimes multiple times a week. It is part of the job of being a senator to work with the president, to talk with the president, even the president of the opposing party,’ he said.
The Republican recalled Biden being the ‘man of the Senate’ prior to his presidency and vice presidency and not suffering any mental decline until he took the top spot.
And Cruz claims he wasn’t the only GOP politician who was blocked from seeing Biden in the last four years, but nearly every Republican.

‘I didn’t speak with him for four years, that was true of virtually every Republican senator,’ he said on the podcast.
While enjoying their joint lunches, Republican senators would talk about their inaction with Biden, Cruz claimed. He also said Democrat senators would only speak with Biden a ‘little more.’
The politician said the only Republican senator who came in contact with the Democrat was Louisiana Senator John Kennedy.
‘He was one of the few who had seen Biden one time,’ Cruz said.
He recalled Kennedy telling the story of visiting the White House over lunch. Kennedy had gone to the White House for Biden to sign a bipartisan bill the Louisiana politician had passed.
Kennedy struck up a conversation with the then-president, who reportedly asked him: ‘So, John, you ever seen the cabinet room?’
The Louisianan lied and Biden invited him back and began telling stories from decades ago, Cruz claimed.
‘White House staff comes in freaking out. “Mr. President, you got to go, you got to go.” And Biden yells at him: “Shut up, I’m telling stories,” and [Kennedy] said, he went on for like thirty [to] forty minutes, and it was like listening to your grandfather who tell these same stories,’ Cruz claimed.

‘I remember he was the only one of us who had seen Biden since he’s been president, and that was his one experience with him.’

Earlier this week, it was revealed that those closest to Biden had hatched plans to prop him up, even if it meant putting him in a wheelchair to help with his alleged spine degeneration.
Aides fretted over his worsening gait as the Democrat sought office again at 81-years-old, upcoming book, Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, claimed.
The forthcoming book by CNN host Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson shares behind the scenes insights from those in the ex-president’s inner-circle, including his doctor.
‘Biden’s physical deterioration – most apparent in his halting walk – had become so severe that there were internal discussions about putting the president in a wheelchair, but they couldn’t do so until after the election,’ the authors penned.
Internet critics and medical professionals weighed-in on Biden’s shuffle towards the end of his presidency, mentioning how he didn’t full lift his feet when walking and noting his increasing incidents of tripping, stumbling and even falling to the ground.
During a commencement address at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado on June 1, 2023, Biden tripped and fell down while on stage. A few members of his Secret Service detail rushed to help him back to his feet.

On June 18, 2022, Biden fell off his bike while on a ride in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
He would often trip while walking up stairs, like when he was still vice president in July 20, 2016, and tripped on stairs when coming up on stage for a speech at a town hall in Sydney, Australia.
On several occasions in his presidential term, Biden fell or stumbled when walking the stairs of Air Force One.
He even began taking the shorter route on the underbelly of the aircraft to avoid the long staircase usually utilized by the president when embarking the big plane.
‘Given Biden’s age, [his physician Kevin O’Connor] also privately said that if he had another bad fall, a wheelchair might be necessary for what could be a difficult recovery,’ an excerpt from the book states.
Biden’s team often told reporters during his 2024 reelection campaign that his halting gait was the result of him fracturing his foot in November 2020 and refusing to wear his walking boot.
Biden also recently discovered a ‘small nodule’ on his prostate that needs ‘further evaluation.’
It was found during ‘a routine physical exam,’ a spokesperson for Biden told ABC News.
Biden was the oldest president in US history when he was elected and when he left office.
