Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met leaders from Telangana, led by union ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, in his parliamentary office. While the MPs and MLAs from the state wanted to meet and congratulate PM Modi for the stupendous electoral wins in both Haryana and Maharashtra, the Prime Minister spoke to them about multiple issues, including the political situation in the southern state.

It is learnt that during the conversation, the Prime Minister told the Telangana legislators to work hard for the cause of the people and to work on spreading the message of the schemes that have been designed for every strata of society. The central government has launched multiple schemes that benefit every segment. Those need to be taken on the ground, is what the Prime Minister is said to have stressed.
“If you work hard, people will reward you with their support,” PM Modi is said to have told the leaders present in the meeting. He also called upon his party members to ensure that they could form a government in Telangana for the welfare of its people. “I am very confident that we can soon have a government in the state,” Modi is said to have told his partymen.
During Parliament sessions, the Prime Minister meets various leaders, especially groups of MPs, and shares his thoughts and ideas with them at length. In fact, in the last monsoon session of Parliament, the Prime Minister met a delegation of MPs from all the NDA partners like TDP, JD(U), etc.
The BJP, which was a force to reckon with in Telangana, could not deliver its best in the last assembly elections, which were swept by the Congress. However, in this year’s Lok Sabha elections, the saffron party was able to double its tally of MPs from four in 2019 to eight.
Telangana is a very important state for the fortunes of the BJP, which has been desperately trying to make further inroads in the south. After losing Karnataka to the Congress, the BJP has been putting its big focus on Telangana in a bid to be able to show that it is a pan-India party.
At present, two members of Parliament from the state are part of the Modi cabinet. Kishan Reddy is the minister of coal and mines, whereas Bandi Sanjay is the minister of state for home affairs.
