Terry Crews revealed that his wife Rebecca King-Crews has previously experienced three miscarriages.
The retired football player, 56, opened up about his own grief while reflecting on Sky Elements’ drone performance that ‘depicted the story of losing a child’ on the latest episode America’s Got Talent, which aired on 9/11.
‘Me and my wife, we know what it’s like to lose a child,’ he told People. ‘We’ve had three miscarriages.’
The television host, who has hosted AGT since season 14, continued: ‘It’s one of those things where it was so meaningful and special because the dedication is just, it’s a way to process these things.’
The performance was choreographed to Lily Meola’s emotional track, Butterfly, released in 2022.

The father-of-five said the display was something the audience and viewers at home ‘needed’ to see.
‘This is the perfect AGT show today,’ he said. ‘We balanced out everything. We had the laughs, we had the dedications, we had the fun, we had the dancing. It was just all over the place and it was perfect.’
Terry also reflected on turning to music to cope with the losses and disconnecting from technological devices.
To navigate difficult events, Terry said he sits ‘in a room’ and listens ‘to music’ to process his feelings and emotions.
Additionally, he noted that talking to his wife was really helpful.
‘We have really, really nice long, deep conversation,’ Terry explained of how he deals with heartbreak. ‘Turn the TV off, turn the phone off and let’s just talk it through.’
He continued: ‘And it’s amazing what that does. You know what I mean? Definitely. It really, truly, you turn around an hour later you’re like, “Wow, I can handle anything.”‘
Terry and his wife, 58, who wed back in 1989, welcomed three daughters and a son during their marriage.
In addition to their four kids Azriél, 33, Tera, 26, Wynfrey, 21, and Isaiah, 19, he adopted her eldest Naomi, 37, from a prior relationship.

Terry previously called fatherhood his ‘purpose’ in life.
He also expressed how important it is to him to help his children reach their goals.
‘I know my kids need me and I want to be that voice and that protector and that support,’ he told Yahoo Life in 2022.
In 2020, Terry revealed his wife had undergone a double mastectomy and subsequent reconstructive surgery after getting diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer.
‘Though it was Stage 1, you’re overwhelmed with fear, like cancer is this all-consuming, all-powerful evil entity,’ he told People, at the time.
