- ESPN is hosting the popular show in College Station, Texas this weekend
A Texas A&M fan stunned his girlfriend on Saturday by proposing to her live on ESPN’s College GameDay.
The couple, Kyle and Erica – herself a born-and-bred Aggie too – were being interviewed when the former was asked for his thoughts on A&M playing the Texas Longhorns later that night.
‘That’s a fantastic question. But I have a better question,’ he said, before getting down on his knee.
Erica appeared shocked at the turn of events, but enthusiastically accepted her husband-to-be’s proposal as the crowd went wild behind them.
There was also confetti shot off in the air.
Texas A&M fan Kyle popped the question to his girlfriend Erica live on College GameDay
Erica was visibly stunned and clearly had not been expecting Kyle to propose at that moment
The couple was all smiles after the proposal and shared a kiss on live television
The happy couple then shared a kiss before Erica appeared to mouth the words ‘Oh my god.’
Earlier in the interview, Erica shared how she had received two degrees from the university and worked there today – so perhaps her engagement happened at the perfect place.
ESPN then asked College GameDay analyst and former Alabama coach Nick Saban to provide some marriage advice for the couple.
‘We’re going on 53 years,’ he said of his wife Terry. ‘We have coffee cups…my coffee cup says ‘Mr. Right’. … But then her coffee cup says ‘Mrs. Never Wrong.’
That wisdom drew some hearty laughs from the rest of the GameDay crew before they gave Kyle and Erica another round of applause.
No. 3 Texas and No. 20 Texas A&M will face off at 7:30pmET.
