The NBA witnessed one of the biggest trade deals in the history of the sport as the LA Lakers roped in Luka Doncic from Dallas Mavericks with Anthony Davis going the other way in a trade for the ages. The blockbuster deal got the league, fans and even players awestruck as Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant expressed his impressions over the deal.
“Insane. It’s crazy, crazy,” Durant began.
Doncic has represented the Mavs since 2018 and has been the star headlining the Dallas-based side in their successes over the past couple of years. Davis has been part of the Lakers from 2019, since he joined the LA outfit from New Orleans.
“Players are held to a different standard of loyalty and commitment to a program but the organizations don’t get held to that same standard from the outside,” Durant reflected.

When quizzed if the incredible deal would have an impact on the mindset and mentality of the sides to reinforce their units before the transfer deadline.
“For sure. You start seeing stuff like that, as an organization, you might get a little more courage to do some stuff,” the 36-year-old said.
“You see another team trade away somebody like that,” he continued.

Durant said the trade between the Mavs and the Lakers could possibly be the biggest one since he made his professional debut.
“This got to be the biggest trade I’ve seen since I’ve been in the league or since I’ve been watching the sport. This is insane,” the American added.
“So yeah, every other team might get confidence and say fuck it, I’ll trade a few of my top players if this ain’t working,” he added.
