The bizarre offer Raygun received from Richard Branson and Boy George in the wake of her viral Olympic Games breakdancing routine revealed

Raygun was offered the chance to perform alongside Boy George after winning over British billionaire Sir Richard Branson with her Olympic Games performance.

The Australian breakdancer, real name Rachael Gunn, made the stunning revelation during her first TV interview following her disastrous Paris routine on Network Ten’s The Project.

Gunn, 37, discussed the social media onslaught she suffered in the wake of the Games, with swathes of people mocking her unique moves, including the likes of Adele and Jimmy Fallon.

Other high-profile figures publicly showed their support for Raygun, including Australian prime minister Anthony Albanese and fellow Olympian Ariarne Titmus.

And now Gunn has revealed that she was contacted by Branson with an unbelievable offer.

‘The upside is you get random people contacting you that you never thought would ever notice you,’ she told The Project.

‘You know, and it’s not just, like, breakers that you’ve respected for a decade.

‘It’s someone like Sir Richard Branson calling you to say that he enjoyed your performance and he thought that it was ‘plucky’ and ‘courageous’ and ‘fun’.

‘And he would love to do something with me and have me on some cruises with Boy George. Like, what is life? I don’t know.’

Reflecting on Fallon’s late night TV sketch, Raygun said of the American: ‘I don’t know whether to, like, hug him or yell at him!’ she said. ‘Because what a platform he ended up giving me like, honestly!

‘I haven’t actually seen the sketch ’cause I don’t think I’m in a place yet to watch it, but I will watch it at some point. And, you know, a few different people have kind of explained it to me and given me different takes on it.

‘But…I’m still in the process of being able to describe how I feel about all this stuff because it kind of feels like a really weird dream that I’ve been having that I’m gonna wake up from at any moment.’

During the tell-all interview with Waleed Aly, Raygun said she knew that she was in for a turbulent time after receiving a concerning message from an Australia Olympic Committee official after her routine.

‘As soon as I finished, you know, my rounds, my media liaison from the AOC said, “Oh, there’s a bit of a storm brewing on social media. You might want to go off socials,”‘ she said.

‘I was like, “OK.” I didn’t understand the scale of it. I did preview some comments and I was like, “Oh, no,” and this kind of sick feeling started, started coming out.

‘I was like, “Oh, goodness! What has happened?”‘

Raygun admitted that she has not watched her performance back, as she addressed the ‘tough’ backlash.

‘I haven’t watched it back, no. That’s not unusual for me, though. I’m not great at watching back my battles,’ she shared.

‘It’s still gonna take some time. I think I’ve seen little bits and pieces, but, yeah, I’ll watch it eventually.’

Amid claims she could nab a string of TV offers, Raygun said she has no desire to remain in the spotlight and plans to take a step back from competing.

‘I don’t think I’ll be competing for a while. Not really wanting to be in the spotlight, breaking, competing. But I… You know, it’s been nice,’ she shared.
