“Public art, such as murals, sculptures, and installations, adds visual interest and aesthetic value, turning ordinary spaces into vibrant landmarks,” Sharma explains. These installations promote social cohesion by sparking dialogue and encouraging interaction among visitors. Additionally, art in public spaces has a meditative quality, creating tranquil environments that promote mental well-being.
Sharma also highlights the economic impact of public art, noting that initiatives like India’s “Mural Arts Program” have not only transformed urban walls into storytelling canvases but also drawn tourists, boosting local economies.

Sharma adds that public art projects contribute to economic revitalization by attracting tourists, stimulating local businesses, and increasing property values. “Cities that strategically invest in public art often experience higher levels of cultural tourism and creative industry development,” she states, underscoring its role in sustainable urban growth.
