Kate’s symbolic neckpiece paid tribute to the occasion in accordance with her connection to the royal roots. The family heirloom earrings and her five-strand faux pearl necklace sourced from the esteemed vintage jeweller showcased her fine taste.
As per a report in the ETimes, Kate’s necklace dates back to the 1980s, and it is designed with pearls of various sizes. The iconic jewellery’s look is further enhanced by the addition of a Swarovski crystal-encrusted clasp. The report claims the necklace’s value to be around USD 341. The Princess of Wales acknowledged the weight of the occasion and teamed her necklace with a pair of Bahrain pearl drop earrings, something which was passed down to her from the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Coming to the necklace’s strong meaning, it is well known that pearls have been associated with mourning in the royal family for ages. It is a tradition that dates back to Queen Victoria, who first wore them following the death of her husband, Prince Albert, in 1861.
Talking about her overall OOTD, the princess picked an all-black-hued ensemble. It featured a camisole top with a matching pair of bottom flared pants and a long coat flowing downwards. In one word, she looked absolutely gorgeous. A mini leather purse with a golden strap and pointed heels did the accessories part. Regarding her makeup, she chose a subtle foundation base with a slight touch of blush on her cheeks, giving her a sense of fresh glow on her face. She also applied thin strokes of eyeliner and glossy lipstick to add an oomph factor to her look. On the other hand, side-parted open tresses rounded off her charm.
