Rajiv Adatia, currently captivating audiences with his culinary skills on Celebrity MasterChef, recently took to social media to criticise celebrities and influencers promoting betting and online gaming apps. The Bigg Boss 15 contestant, a top contender in the competition, shared an Instagram reel where he emphasised the dangers of such endorsements, raising concerns about how these influencers are pushing young people into financial and emotional distress.

In the clip, Rajiv Adatia shared a heartbreaking story about a father desperately trying to save his son from suicide after the young man lost a significant amount of money on these platforms. Expressing his frustration, Rajiv Adatia said, “I am completely against promoting betting apps and gaming apps. This is very bad karma. There are better ways to earn money, and I’ve been vocal about this because families are getting destroyed.”

Further emphasising how celebrities’ endorsements mislead people into believing that these platforms are trustworthy, he said, “People think if a celebrity is promoting it, it must be good. But the truth is, there is nothing good about this. Every day, I see videos of young people committing suicide because they have no way out.”

Without mincing his words, Rajiv criticised those who profit from these endorsements, arguing that the negative consequences of such advertising inevitably return as karma. “If you promote these apps and people lose everything, that responsibility is on you. These people aren’t playing for fun; they are hoping to earn for their families. But instead, they end up losing everything.”

At the end of the video, the Bigg Boss fame strongly advocated for a global ban on betting apps, emphasizing their harmful impact. He urged celebrities to reconsider endorsing such platforms, asking, “Is it worth playing with fans’ emotions? Is it worth misleading people into scams?”

As expected, Rajiv Adatia’s bold message received widespread support from fans and followers, with many agreeing that celebrities should take more responsibility for their influence.

Regarding Celebrity MasterChef, the show airs on Sony TV from Monday to Friday at 8 pm. In the latest episode, veteran actress Usha Nadkarni was eliminated. The remaining contestants vying for the title are Rajiv, Archana Gautam, Nikki Tamboli, Faisal Shaikh, Tejasswi Prakash, and Gaurav Khanna.
