Tory Lanez fires back at Megan Thee Stallion for ‘weaponizing the justice system’ after she filed restraining order

Tory Lanez has fired back at Megan Thee Stallion as he accused her of ‘weaponizing the justice system’ in a new complaint.

The Canadian music artist, 32, filed the court documents – obtained by People on Friday – a little over one week after the Wanna Be rapper, 29, requested a temporary restraining order against him on December 17.

Last year in August, Lanez was notably sentenced to 10 years in prison after he was found guilty of shooting Megan in the feet during a drunken argument in 2020.

The star – whose full name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete – alleged that Tory has been ‘coordinating’ with bloggers to spread false lies about her online. But he has since slammed the harassment claims as ‘ridiculous.’

And in a complaint filed on Christmas Eve, he alleged she ‘improperly decided to use the Los Angeles County civil court to file a frivolous request for civil harassment restraining order against Daystar Peterson, who has had zero direct contact with Ms. Pete.’

‘When celebrity with millions of dollars and backed by large corporation disagrees with free speech or opinions, they weaponize the justice system…’

‘Failing to understand that they are public figures, who voluntarily catapulted themselves into the limelight, unable to deal with the controversy and public opinions,’ Lanez further claimed in the documents.

The Hurts Me rapper then cited the California Code of Civil Procedure S. 527, which ‘prohibits courts from issuing restraining orders that restrict constitutionally protected speech. The statute ensures restraining order.’

Tory added in the complaint, ‘Rather than rebut the commentary or debate the issues raised by Defendant’s comments so people can make up their own minds, Plaintiff has succumbed to the current trend of using the legal system in an attempt to cancel those opinions she disagrees with.’

He also claimed that the TRO is not necessary, explaining that, ‘He does not have possession of firearm and is unable to leave his current residence.’

‘Therefore, the incident alleged (which occurred 4.5 years ago) is no longer any form of current or future threat to the person seeking protection.’

In the complaint, the music artist claimed that both he and Megan have had ‘no direct contact of any kind.’

However, Lanez is slated to appear in court for a hearing next month on January 9 over the temporary restraining order, per People.

Tory recently clapped back at Megan’s request for a TRO this month over claims that he has been harassing her from behind bars.

In her request to a judge, the songstress detailed months of alleged torment from Tory, which included him allegedly ‘coordinating’ with bloggers to spread ‘lies’ about her online.

It was also alleged that Megan’s attorney had proof that Tory’s father had made payments to Elizabeth Milagro Cooper, a blogger who Megan sued earlier this year.

In a statement to TMZ last week, Tory’s legal team vehemently denied the harassment claims and told fans to ‘stop believing [Megan’s] narrative.’

They also said the ‘payments’ had nothing to do with their client and that the truth would eventually be revealed in court.

They then branded Megan ‘ridiculous’ for claiming that Tory’s legal team had filed a petition in October 2024 in an attempt to detract from the release of her emotional documentary In Her Words, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on October 31.

‘Megan’s claim that Tory filed legal docs to undermine her new Amazon Prime documentary is “ridiculous,”‘ Tory’s legal team said.

They claimed that the timing of the court filing was unrelated to the release of Megan’s doc and, instead, was done to ‘comply with legal guidelines.’

The legal petition in question alleged that the gun used in the July 2020 shooting had been misplaced by the LAPD, as reported by BET.

However, the Los Angeles Attorney General’s office ruled in November that Tory and his legal team failed to provide evidence to backup their claim.

Megan filed her request for a restraining order in Los Angeles on December 17, according to TMZ.

Tory allegedly uses a network of bloggers, including Cooper, to spread harmful lies about her, according to the court documents obtained by the outlet.

The filing reveals that prison phone logs suggest a ‘coordinated effort’ between Tory and Cooper, including a call where Tory’s dad allegedly asked about payments for the harassment campaign.

Megan claims that this relentless ‘psychological warfare’ has taken a serious toll on her mental health, leaving her depressed and distanced from friends.

In a deeply distressing statement, Megan said she ‘sometimes wishes Tory would have shot and killed me, if I would have known I was going to go through this torture.’

As Tory appeals his conviction, Megan claims he’s spreading falsehoods to reduce his sentence and is now seeking a restraining order to prevent further harassment, either directly or through others.

In October, Megan sued YouTuber and social media personality Milagro Gramz (Cooper) for allegedly acting as a ‘mouthpiece and puppet’ for Tory.

In a statement shared with DailyMail.com, Megan said: ‘It’s time to hold bloggers accountable for years of harassment, cyberbullying and the publication of misinformation about my personal and professional life.’

‘I’ve endured countless attacks on my character based on false narratives from social media bloggers misrepresenting themselves as journalists.’

She continued: ‘It’s unacceptable behavior and these individuals need to understand there will be repercussions for recklessly posting lies and defamatory falsehoods.’

In a statement posted to X, Gramz acknowledged the lawsuit and confirmed that she had ‘been informed that I’m being sued by Alex Spiro on behalf of his client Megan Thee Stallion.’

In August 2023, Tory was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Megan in the feet during a drunken argument after a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s house in 2020.

The rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, begged the judge for mercy in a tense Los Angeles courtroom, claiming he still cared for Megan ‘dearly.’

However, his plea didn’t spare him from the decade-long sentence, handed down after a dramatic trial that captured the attention of the hip-hop world.

Megan testified that after a heated argument, she stepped out of his SUV, only for Lanez to shout ‘Dance, b***h’ and fire five shots at her feet, leaving her with three bullet fragments that required surgery.

At his sentencing, Lanez admitted to making ‘very immature’ remarks and revealing ‘secrets I shouldn’t have revealed’ during the ordeal.

Despite pleading not guilty, Lanez’s actions and his attempt to silence Megan with a $1 million bribe only added fuel to the fire.
