Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed centre back Nasser Djiga from Red Star Belgrade and midfielder Marshall Munetsi from Stade de Reims, the Premier League said early on Tuesday at the close of the transfer window.
Burkina Faso’s Djiga has signed a contract until 2030, with an optional 12-month extension, as local media reports said Wolves paid 10 million pounds ($12.42 million)for the 22-year-old.
“This signing took hard work from a number of people, and we’re looking forward to seeing Nasser become integrated into the Wolves family,” Wolves chairman Jeff Shi said.
“This signing is a strong investment for the club, with Nasser having great potential, and we’re looking forward to seeing him develop under our coaching staff.”
Djiga made 56 appearances for Red Star since his arrival on loan last season, helping the team win the Serbian league and Cup double.
The Zimbabwe international spent the early part of his career in South Africa, playing for Ubuntu Cape Verde, Baroka and Orlando Pirates.
“Our staff travelled to France to ensure this deal was done on deadline day, and we’re pleased to bring an experienced player into the group at an important time of the season,” Shi said.
“We’re excited to have Marshall on board, and I hope he can help us achieve our aims.”
Aston Villa Sign Axel Disasi On Loan From Chelsea
Aston Villa have signed centre back Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea for the rest of the season, both clubs announced early on Tuesday without revealing deals of the deal.
Villa are set to pay a loan fee of around 5 million pounds ($6.21 million) plus the 26-year-old’s wages, Sky Sports reported without citing sources.
Disasi has made 61 appearances for Chelsea since arriving from Monaco in 2023. He has been capped five times by France since his international debut at the 2022 World Cup.
Disasi is the third loan secured by Villa in the winter transfer window following deals for Marcus Rashford from Manchester United and Marco Asensio from Paris St Germain.
Everton Sign Carlos Alcaraz On Loan
Everton has signed Argentine midfielder Carlos Alcaraz from Brazilian Serie A side Flamengo on loan for the rest of the season, with an option to buy, the Premier League club said early on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old, who became the team’s first signing under coach David Moyes, returns to the Premier League after a spell at Southampton in 2023, before going out on loan to Serie A side Juventus last year.
“I am very happy to join Everton, such a great club, with a very good fanbase,” Alcaraz told Evertontv. “I’m very happy and I’m looking forward to start training with my team mates and see the fans at the stadium.”
Alcaraz began his career with Racing Club at the age of 17, helping the Buenos Aires-based club lift the Argentine Champions Trophy in 2022 by scoring the winner in the final against Boca Juniors.
He scored three goals and provided two assists in 19 matches since his arrival at Flamengo last August.
