Flights from New York to Washington DC have all been stopped Monday, causing an air travel nightmare along the East Coast.
The Federal Aviation Administration has announced a ground stop at John F Kennedy International Airport due to severe thunderstorms in the area.
The ground stop also impacts Philadelphia International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
All three ground stops are currently scheduled to last into the early evening, with the stop at JFK shutting down flights until 4:45pm ET.
Flights in Washington are grounded until 5pm and the flights in Philadelphia are stuck until at least 5:30pm.
