Trump accuses MSNBC of ‘unpardonable sin’ as he dances on grave of Joy Reid after show cancellation

President Donald Trump demanded MSNBC pay restitution for ‘damaging’ the nation and branded host Joy Reid a ‘mentally obnoxious racist’ after learning her show had been canceled.

The move to fire Reid was announced on Sunday, prompting Trump to lash out at the liberal network amid a months-long ratings dip that led to a frantic staff realignment in a desperate attempt to stay relevant.

The embattled network faced its lowest-rated January in history in the highly sought-after 25-54 demographic, which is of great importance to advertisers due to the group’s spending power.

Trump began his broadside of MSNBC by referring to Brian Roberts, the head of its parent company Comcast, as the ‘Lowlife Chairman of “Concast.”‘

‘The owner of ratings challenged NBC and MSDNC has finally gotten the nerve up to fire one of the least talented people in television, the mentally obnoxious racist, Joy Reid,’ Trump posted on his Truth Social page.

‘Based on her ratings, which were virtually non-existent, she should have been “canned” long ago, along with everyone else who works there.’

Trump then cited a litany of fellow hosts he felt deserved his derision, including Al Sharpton and Rachel Maddow. The latter, the president claimed, ‘rarely shows up because she knows there’s nobody watching and she also knows that she’s got less television persona than virtually anyone on television except, perhaps, Joy Reid.’

‘This whole corrupt operation is nothing more than an illegal arm of the Democrat Party,’ Trump added.

‘They should be forced to pay vast sums of money for the damage they’ve done to our country. Fake News is an UNPARDONABLE SIN!’

Meanwhile on Sunday, employees on Reid’s show, The ReidOut, were in an uproar after being forced to learn about news of the cancelation when it was leaked to the media.

As the situation devolved, newly-appointed MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler called a virtual meeting with the angered staffers. The audio of that meeting was also leaked to Oliver Darcy’s Status newsletter.

After being ‘abruptly summoned’ for the meeting the employees ‘expressed frustration and disbelief, outraged that they had learned of their show’s fate from reports in the press rather than leadership,’ Status reported.

They challenged the network leadership to explain why the show was canceled and what that meant for their jobs – prompting Kutler to confirm ‘the entire staff had been laid off.’

She told them they would receive severance through April and encouraged the staff members to apply for other positions within MSNBC, as Kutler pointed to the more than 100 new jobs being posted on its job board.

But still, staff members left the meeting shaken.

‘For those who have worked on The ReidOut, the meeting drove home a difficult reality: Their show is over and their future at the progressive network is uncertain,’ the newsletter said.

Regarding the fact that the cancelation was leaked before MSNBC leadership could alert employees, Kutler simply said she was ‘incredibly disappointed that this happened this way.’

One employee then shot back that it was a ‘terrible, terrible way to learn about our fate.’

Kutler also ‘insisted’ that Trump ‘was not a factor’ following Reid’s many criticisms of the sitting president.

The liberal network has been in turmoil amid plunging ratings and constant criticism for outdated liberal talking amid the second Trump administration.

NBCUniversal has even agreed to settle a $30 million defamation suit filed by a Georgia gynecologist after on-air talents – including Rachel Maddow – falsely labeled him a ‘uterus collector.’

Dr. Mahendra Amin sued in September 2021 after NBCU hosts like MSNBC’s Maddow reported claims he performed ‘mass hysterectomies’ on ICE center detainees with impunity – allegations that later turned out to be false.

Documents filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of Georgia Thursday show how MSNBC’s parent has since agreed to settle – with talks about a number now underway.

Reid has also come under criticism for sharing conspiracies following Trump’s assassination attempt last summer – including that he may not have ever been shot at all.

The liberal anchor listed a number of things she finds ‘weird’ about the shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, and appeared to imply that it was a staged event.

‘We still don’t know for sure whether Donald Trump was hit by a bullet,’ she began. ‘We know almost nothing.’

Reid also went viral after a fit over Mark Zuckerberg’s U-turn on Meta’s fact-checking programs.

She took to TikTok to air her distaste after bizarrely claiming the Trump administration’s transition to power ‘was a violent [one]’.

The latter was delivered on the air, as the progressive continues to publicly pan the looming administration.

‘Why would conservatives think that fact-checking is biased against them?’ Reid, 56, began in the clip, posted hours after Zuckerberg, 40, admitted Meta censored conservative opinions on an industrial scale during the current administration.

‘I mean, what are you sharing?’ If you keep getting fact-checked for false information,’ the commentator asked aloud.

Smiling, she pointed to her head and told followers to ‘Think about it,’ before claiming most – if not all – censored opinions on platforms like Facebook were misinformation.

The rest of the rant had a condescending tone, highly critical of conservatives.

Reid’s final episode of The ReidOut is now set for sometime this week, sources told The New York Times.

Other programming changes are also expected as the network looks to revitalize its primetime roster.

Her ouster now comes amid fresh criticism of Trump and his ‘first buddy’ Elon Musk, after the Tesla CEO sent an email to all federal employees requiring them to send a list of five tasks they accomplished at work last week.

It gave a deadline of Monday at 11:59 p.m. EST to send back their explanation of work.

Musk said in a post to X that if workers fail or refuse to respond it would be ‘taken as a resignation.’

The billionaire Tesla founder later explained he was simply eager ‘to see who had a pulse and two working neurons’ amid concerns that some government workers have it so good that they don’t even check their emails.

Still, Tulsi Gabbard, the new Director of National Intelligence, and Kash Patel, the newly-appointed FBI director to ignore the request from Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration continued its bloodbath gutting of the US Agency for International Development, cutting 2,000 workers and placing all but a fraction of other staffers on leave.

The Federal Reserve has also moved into a near standstill as President Donald Trump continues to rail through and cut government contracts, workforce, programs and entire agencies.

One area that has not seen cuts, though, is Customs and Border Protection – which Trump has amped up, directing immigration enforcement officers to  track down and deport migrant children who arrived in the United States without their parents.

According to an internal memo seen by Reuters, agents at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will now direct their focus to unaccompanied minors.

The memo cited a ‘planning phase’ to begin on January 27, followed by three more phases of implementation, to begin at an unspecified date.

Trump signed an executive order upon returning to the White House rolling back certain protections for migrants which forbade ICE officers from arresting them at certain locations – including schools.
