US President Donald Trump on Sunday urged Iran and Israel to “make a deal” and end their ongoing exchange of deadly strikes, while again claiming credit for brokering a past ceasefire between India and Pakistan using trade negotiations.

“Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social. “Just like I got India and Pakistan to make, in that case by using TRADE with the United States to bring reason, cohesion, and sanity into the talks with two excellent leaders who were able to quickly make a decision and STOP!”

Trump has repeatedly claimed that he played a key role in resolving the May ceasefire between India and Pakistan, saying he used trade leverage with both countries to help de-escalate tensions. He has mentioned this in several past public statements and repeated the claim today.

In his post, Trump went on to reference other disputes he claimed to have resolved, including between Serbia and Kosovo and the Nile River dispute between Egypt and Ethiopia.

“Also, during my first term, Serbia and Kosovo were going at it hot and heavy… I stopped it. Another case is Egypt and Ethiopia… There is peace, at least for now, because of my intervention, and it will stay that way!”

Referring back to the current conflict, he added, “Likewise, we will have PEACE, soon, between Israel and Iran!”

The US President further added that “many calls and meetings” are currently taking place behind the scenes and expressed confidence that peace could be achieved “soon” between the two nations.

“Many calls and meetings now taking place. I do a lot, and never get credit for anything, but that’s OK, the PEOPLE understand. MAKE THE MIDDLE EAST GREAT AGAIN!,” he noted.

Trump’s comments come as Iran and Israel continue to trade intense cross-border attacks for a third consecutive day. Israeli strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear and military sites have drawn strong retaliation, raising fears of a wider regional conflict.
