Sharing her transformation with followers on Instagram, Uorfi posted a casual selfie from her car and opened up about her decision. Her chin looked more natural than before, but fans praised her beauty in both the “before” and “after” pictures.

But what exactly are chin fillers, and what does it take to dissolve them? Let’s explore these questions.

What Is Chin Filler?

Chin fillers are a non-surgical treatment that helps reshape the chin for a more defined look. They are designed to enhance the jawline and add definition which gives the face a fresher, youthful appearance. The procedure is quick and simple. It involves injecting a gel-like substance into the soft tissues of the chin which offers a temporary change in the contour. Chin fillers are a simpler, less invasive alternative to permanent chin surgery for those seeking a subtle yet quick change.

How Do Chin Fillers Dissolve?

Dr. Shilpi Bhadani, a plastic and aesthetic surgeon and founder of SB Aesthetics in Gurugram, shared with The Indian Express how chin fillers can be dissolved safely. According to Dr. Bhadani, it is essential to have fillers dissolved by a trained expert like a plastic surgeon because the procedure involves injecting near important nerves and blood vessels.

She explained that some dermal fillers can be dissolved using a special enzyme, but not all fillers are reversible. “Hyaluronic acid (HA) is one of the most popular reversible fillers,” Dr. Bhadani said.

“Other temporary fillers, such as calcium hydroxylapatite and polymethylmethacrylate microspheres, may also respond to this treatment but may cause adverse reactions or other complications,” she added.

Dr. Bhadani further explained that once injected, the body naturally breaks down the filler over time with the help of an enzyme called hyaluronidase. However, if someone wants to speed up the process, hyaluronidase can be injected externally to dissolve the filler faster.

“While the filler is hyaluronic acid, the enzyme that dissolves the filler is hyaluronidase,” explained Dr. Bhadani.

She further stressed the importance of consulting an expert before undergoing this procedure, as the enzyme can cause allergic reactions if not administered carefully.

After multiple rounds of fillers, some people may feel that the final outcome doesn’t meet their expectations and may choose to reverse the changes. Dr. Bhadani explained that once the fillers are dissolved, individuals can opt to get fillers again after a waiting period of about a week or 10 days.
