One of India’s greatest cricketers Yuvraj Singh is celebrating his 43rd birthday today. The legendary allrounder played key roles in India winning two World Cup titles during his playing career. Wishes have been pouring on social media for the cricketer who is the first batter in T20I history to smash six sixes in an over.

The BCCI pointed out Yuvraj’s stellar numbers while extending wishes

“Birthday wishes to the legendary Yuvraj Singh– 2007 ICC World T20 & 2011 ICC World Cup-winner,” the BCCI wrote.

Yuvraj’s former India teammate Suresh Raina highlighted how “his journey, both on and off the field, has been an inspiration for millions.”

Raina also wished his “Yuvi paji” a year filled with good health, happiness, and success. “May you continue to motivate us with your resilience, passion, and larger-than-life personality. Keep shining like the star you are,” the Chennai Super Kings legend wrote.

Legendary opener Virender Sehwag added a little bit of humour to his birthday wish for Yuvraj. “UV rays can be very harmful to the skin, but this Yuvi was very harmful to bowlers,” Sehwag wrote on Instagram.

He further hailed his “dear friend” Yuvraj as a “champion with a big heart.” The post also had a video featuring some precious moments of Yuvraj and Sehwag from their legendary careers.

Among the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings wished Yuvraj Singh on his 43rd birthday.

RCB dropped some treasured pictures of Yuvraj with some of their two legends– Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle. Notably, Yuvraj had played for the Bengaluru-based side in the 2014 IPL.

A man for the big occasions, Yuvraj scripted several records during his illustrious international career. He was named the Player of the Tournament at the 2011 ODI World Cup. He became the first Indian to record 300-plus runs and take 15 wickets in a World Cup edition.

He was also the first player to score 50 runs and fetch a five-wicket haul in a World Cup match against Ireland in 2011.
