Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened the innings for Rajasthan Royals in the 188-run chase on Tuesday (May 20) against Chennai Super Kings at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi and scored 57 runs from 33 balls. During his stay at the crease, the 14-year-old left-handed batter from Bihar hammered 4 fours and 4 sixes and helped RR finish the IPL 2025 campaign with a dominating 6-wicket win over the MS Dhoni-led side.

After playing a big role in RR’s memorable win over CSK at Feroz Shah Kotla ground, Suryavanshi touched Dhoni’s feet during the post-match handshake between the players of the two teams, and the clip of that heartwarming moment is now going viral on the internet.

Suryavanshi added 37 runs with Yashasvi Jaiswal (36 from 19 balls) and 98 runs for the second wicket with Sanju Samson, who made 41 from 31 balls and, in the process, also became the first player to score 4000 runs in the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals.

RR end campaign with 8 points

The match against CSK in Delhi on Tuesday was RR’s last league match of the ongoing season, and the inaugural edition winners finished the campaign on a positive note. For RR, Jaiswal finished as the leading run-getter in IPL 2025. He played all 14 matches and, with the help of six half-centuries, amassed a total of 559 runs. In the list of leading run getters, the Mumbai-based batter, who was retained for Rs 18 crore ahead of the mega auction last year, was followed by Riyan Parag (393) and Dhruv Jurel (333).

In the list of bowlers, Wanindu Hasaranga, Jofra Archer and Maheesh Theekshana finished with 11 wickets each, whereas Sandeep Sharma and Tushar Deshapande picked up nine wickets each in 10 matches for the Jaipur-based franchise.
