Vikrant Massey has decided to quit acting at the age of 37 and wishes to spend more time with his family

Vikrant Massey stunned his fans when he abruptly declared his retirement from acting via social media. The actor, recognised for his versatility and captivating performances, made the unexpected decision at a time when he has been experiencing back-to-back hits. Vikrant received the Personality of the Year award at India’s 55th International Film Festival (IFFI), which concluded recently. He decided to quit at the age of 37 and wished to spend more time with his family. But he was not the first one to quit the profession early. There have been other personalities who left the industry after a successful career leaving fans shocked.

Twinkle Khanna

Twinkle Khanna, the daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, drew a line to her performance stint in 2001. She found an alternate career in writing and interior designing. Some of her best sellers include Mrs Funnybones, Welcome to Paradise, Pyjamas Are Forgiving and The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad.

Mayuri Kango

Mayuri featured in Mahesh Bhatt’s Papa Kehte Hain and rose to prominence. However, she was no longer in show business a few years later. Kango appeared in various films before retiring from acting in 2001, including Badal, Betaabi, Vamsi, Naseem and Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet, among others.

Asin Thottumkal
