Virat Kohli catches up with RCB batting coach before the start of Kanpur Test

Virat Kohli caught up with former teammate Dinesh Karthik who will be in the commentary box, calling the India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test.

Team India gears up for the second Test against Bangladesh, beginning Friday in Kanpur. However, the toss has been delayed due to a wet outfield at Green Park cricket stadium. It had rained overnight in Kanpur, leaving a certain part of the ground dampened. The ground staff at the venue has been at work since morning to make the conditions playable.

On Friday morning, the Indian players stepped out on the field to have a look at the conditions. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli caught up with former teammate Dinesh Karthik who will be in the commentary box, calling the game. The pictures of them having a chat at Green Park have now gone viral on social media.

Karthik retired from all formats

Earlier in June, Karthik drew curtains on his illustrious career that spanned 19 years. Later, he was named the batting coach and mentor for the Royal Challengers Bangalore for IPL 2025. The 39-year-old, who made his ODI debut for India as a 19-year-old back in 2004, has vast batting experience of over two decades during which he played 26 Tests, 94 One-Day Internationals and 60 T20 Internationals for India. He also featured in 257 IPL games, scoring an aggregate of 4842 runs, including 22 fifties.

India win toss in Kanpur

India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl in the second Test against Bangladesh here on Friday. Hosts India, who lead the two-match series 1-0, have fielded an unchanged side.

Bangladesh have however made a couple of changes with Khaled Ahmed and Taijul Islam replacing Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana. The start of the match was delayed due to a wet outfield.

India had won the opening Test by 280 runs.
