Vishal Pandey posted a video message in which he requested his fans and followers to join him in raising awareness about the Kolkata doctor rape-murder incident.

Vishal Pandey, who gained popularity with his stint on Bigg Boss OTT 3, chose not to celebrate this year’s Independence Day. The actor expressed his deep concern over the recent incident in Kolkata, where a young trainee doctor was brutally assaulted and murdered. Vishal posted a video message on Instagram where he requested his fans and followers to join him in raising awareness about the tragic case and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.

In the video, Vishal shared, “Hi guys, sabse pehli baat toh aapko Independence Day ki hardik shubhkaamnaein. aaj ke din humara desh azaad hua tha kehne ko. Mere khayal se desh azaad hogya tha lekin desh ke logon ki soch azaad nahi hui hai. Aaj se dus din pehle meine socha tha ki Independence Day ko kuch grand banana hoga, kuch alag tareeke se celebrate kareinge but jabse meine RG Kar doctor tragedy ke baare mein suna hai mein ek hi cheez soch rha hoon ki kya hum vakai azaad huye hai? Kya humein vakai mein celebrate karna chahiye (Hi guys, first of all, I want to wish you all a very Happy Independence Day. Today is the day our country got freedom. But in my opinion, while the country gained independence, the mindset of its people hasn’t been liberated. Ten days ago, I was thinking of celebrating Independence Day in a grand way, doing something different. But ever since I heard about the tragic incident involving the RG Kar doctor, there’s only one question in my mind: Are we truly free? Should we really be celebrating)?”

The actor further shared, “Kyunki itne mehnat karne ke baad, doctor ki degree haasil karne ke baad wo ladki apne workplace mein safe nahi hai toh kya hum azaad hai. Itni dardnaak, khaunaak, aur wahiyaat cheez karte wqt us insaan ke andar dar ya fir kuch ek rukawat nahi aai hai, toh kya hum vakai azaad hai? humari maa behenein betiyon par khatra mandra rha hai toh kya hum azaad hai? kahin na kahin hum azaad hai lekin humare logon ki soch azaad nahi hai (As after all the hard work, after earning a degree to become a doctor, if a girl is not safe at her workplace, can we call ourselves free? If someone can commit such a horrific, monstrous, and disgusting act without fear or hesitation, are we really free? If our mothers, sisters, and daughters are still under threat, are we truly free? Somewhere, we are free, but our people’s mindset is not).”

Vishal concluded his message with, “Toh guys mein bas yeh request karna chahta hoon ki aaj ke din mere saath ek pledge lijiye ki hum is case ke baare mein zyaada se zyaada baat kareinge aur make sure kareinge ki jin logon ne yeh kiya unhe saza mil pae. So pls stand with me for the Kolkata doctor (So, I just want to request you all to take a pledge with me today that we will talk about this case as much as possible and ensure that those responsible are punished. So, please stand with me for the Kolkata doctor).”
