Days after Assad’s fall, a missing US citizen was found wandering the streets outside the Syrian capital of Damascus barefoot. The man was identified later as Travis Pete Timmerman, last seen in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, in late May.He appears to be among the thousands of people released from Syria’s notorious prisons after the overthrow of Assad regime.Timmerman was initially mistaken by some for Austin Tice, an American journalist who went missing in Syria 12 years ago.
