The first T20I of the four-match series between India and South Africa is scheduled to take place at Kingsmead in Durban on Friday (November 8).
Indian cricket stars put their general knowledge skills to the test before making a touchdown in South Africa for the upcoming series. The Indian cricket team is scheduled to take on the Proteas in a four-match T20I series starting November 8. Before flying to Durban for the series opener, the Indian squad engaged in a trivia quiz about their next destination. The official Instagram account of the Indian Cricket Team shared the video of the hilarious sequence online.
“Touchdown Durban. How good is Team India’s knowledge of their next destination,” the post read.
The video began with Abhishek Sharma asking Tilak Varma about the capital cities in South Africa. Indian all-rounder Axar Patel could be seen questioning Arshdeep Singh about the national animal of their opposition. The video also featured glimpses of skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya.
Several fans reacted to the post in the comments section. One of them wrote, “All the best, new team. New mission.”
Another awaited fixture between the captains of the two sides, Suryakkuar Yadav and Aiden Markram. “Captain Sky vs Captain Aiden Markram,” he wrote.
One netizen agreed and added, “The battle between two competitive teams, IND vs SA.”
Another user warned the team and wrote, “Do better guys… after washout…cannot swallow another loss.”
The fan hoped Abhishek Sharma would score a century in the upcoming series and said, “Hope Abhishek Sharma scores his first SENA century.”
“All the best!” added one more.
India’s T20I squad has been stealing all the headlines lately. They recently put up a batting masterclass against Bangladesh and broke several records in the format. They won the series 3-0 at home while putting up a mammoth score of 297 runs in the concluding game. Sanju Samson scored a brilliant century while skipper Suryakumar Yadav added a quickfire 35-ball 75. Hardik Pandya smashed 47 runs towards the innings’ end. A three-wicket haul from Ravi Bishnoi enabled India to win the match by 133 runs.
While India continues their dominance in T20I cricket, they have been struggling in the longer formats. They were beaten 0-2 by Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series in August. India were also whitewashed 0-3 at home by New Zealand in the Test series. They will now be looking to learn from their mistakes and prepare for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia later in November.
