Suniel Shetty is currently on cloud nine as his daughter Athiya Shetty is expecting her first child with husband KL Rahul. The couple shared the pregnancy news last month via a post on Instagram. The soon-to-be grandpa was recently snapped in the city where the shutterbugs extended their heartfelt wishes to the Hera Pheri actor and his reaction was adorable. Several pictures and videos of the actor are currently surfacing on social media.
In one such video, shared by the popular paparazzo Viral Bhayani, the actor could be seen making his way to his car. As the clip proceeds, we see the paps stationed at the location wish him and say, “Nana banne waale ho, badhaai ho. (Going to be a grandpa soon, congratulations).” Listening to this, the actor beamed in joy and gave a heartwarming smile. Additionally, he flaunted his biceps in front of the shutterbugs. He was seen donning an all-white ensemble and flaunted a salt-and-pepper look.
As soon as the video was shared online, the comment section was flooded with reactions from fans and admirers. An Instagram user wrote, “Nana banne ki khushi hi alag hoti hai.” (The pure joy of becoming a grandfather.) Another one commented, “Nana abhi bhi jawan hai (Grandpa is still so young).” One of them commented, “Nana? He doesn’t look that old.”
Last month, Athiya and Rahul shared a post announcing the good news with their fans and admirers. “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon. 2025 (sic),” the post read. Suniel shared the post on his Instagram Stories and wrote, “Blessed.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor is currently busy shooting for Hunter season 2 which will premiere on Amazon Mini TV. The show’s first season also featured Esha Deol and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles.
Apart from that, he also has director Ahmed Khan’s comedy film Welcome To The Jungle in his kitty. Backed by Firoz Nadiadwallah, the film features an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Paresh Rawal and others. The official release date of the film is yet to be announced.
